Used to be a much better dental office... I originally discovered this dental practice by doing research online. Seemed that they had very good reviews and that it was a one-dentist office, which is what I was looking for. In this day and age of multi-dentist offices, I was very happy to find a practice with one, sole dentist. I initially starting going to this dentist about two-years ago. Their prices initially were okay. But as other reviewers have mentioned, they do seem to dwell upon what I would consider "unnecessary" upselling. Of course, one can substantiate almost anything. Of course, older "metal" fillings should be replaced with modern, non-metallic equivalents. However, their are a lot of us that have insurance maximums and we must do these "unnecessary replacements" in stages and utilize our dental insurance efficiently and not bear unnecessary financial burden on our pocketbooks. I experienced similar experiences as Larry H. and "-+" mentioned. In a nutshell, I think that they want to get as much as possible out of you, thinking that they might as well get as much for they might not see you again... My experiences were similar to others in that they tried to wheel and deal "packages" on me--which I did not appreciate. Is it similar to buying a car? Close, but I would not go that far... My initial opening of this review alludes to better times for this dental office. This is what I mean. In my humble opinion, this dental office USED TO BE much better when only Dr. Espinosa was the sole dentist. They have grown (and good for them) to at least two other dentists and a couple of additional office staff, as well as a couple of dental hygienists (I think). They have also grown physically, expanding office space into an adjoining suite. As anyone who is familiar with company structures knows, as "staff goes up, problems also go up and service, especially personal service goes down. I will say that all of Dr. Espinosa's staff is super nice, no doubt about it. I just question their business practices with up-selling and a disregard for patient's wishes/financial constraints. Oh, and another thing, their office practices are very "unusual." First off, they pester you to death with "reminder calls" when you are due/overdue. The don't seem to use email very well. Oh, they will send you emails, but they apparently don't read your replies (or, maybe they read them and then don't enter notes in your file on what you say/request... Another questionable practice. they took my daughter's money (3 "large" as in 3 grand plus) weeks before her treatment was to start (no insurance involved). Prior to this, I had never heard of this happening ever in the dental/medical field. I mean, everyone know that most medical/dental offices require "payment at the time of services," but this prepayment stuff to me is unheard of... All in all, I would rate their office practices as two-stars.
