Dr. Diana Hoppe is a distinguished physician in Obstetrics/Gynecology, highly respected clinical researcher and popular public speaker. Interestingly, as a child, Dr. Diana dreamed of becoming a veterinarian specializing in small pets. Her love for animals led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Zoology and she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley in 1984. While at U.C. Berkeley, she volunteered at Cowell’s Women’s Hospital, working with nurse practitioners performing physical exams and providing contraceptive counseling. It was there that she realized her true calling for the field of women’s health. Dr. Hoppe earned her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego, where she also completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics/Gynecology. Having been raised and trained in Southern California, wanderlust filled her soul so she decided to embark on the adventurous journey of locum tenens where she explored various parts of our country, from Bismarck, North Dakota, to Winona, Minnesota, to Newport, Vermont. These travel experiences awakened her sense of curiosity and exploration for the country as well as the world.
In 1994, she returned to Southern California and practiced with group practicing before deciding to embark on her own private practice. She co-founded Pacific Coast Women’s Health in 1998 which became a thriving practice and earned her the acclaim of San Diego’s Top Doctors in Ob/Gyn in October 2005. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Hoppe began doing international clinical trials in numerous areas of women’s health, including menopause, peri-menopause and libido.

I feel like I found my soul mate! This doctor and her staff are the most wonderful I have found in 33 years of living in San Diego. They make you feel at home. She really CARES about your issues and offers suggestions that you didn't even know were options! I found my new "go to" doctor!!

Dr Hoppe is amazing. She is incredibly informative and thinks outside the box. I have a tendency to always lean toward the NATURAL methods of treatment and she is really knowledgeable in working with nutrition and supplements to balance the body. Her office and staff warm, welcoming and so helpful. We have been going in weekly, helping my daughter to check in and deal with nutrition and getting to a healthier weight after her diagnoses of PCOS. For a 13 year old to feel comfortable with an OB...now that speaks volumes. No insurance...but great care. I would highly recommend Dr. Hoppe

I was referred to Dr. Hoppe by my general physician, but I was also searching for a gyno that doesn't do obstetrics. My last gyno did them and the waiting room was always full of screaming kids and 1-2 hour wait times were typical... I felt like a second class citizen. Dr. Hoppe is wonderful! Her office is small - just her - so it's never crowded and I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. It's also easy to get an appointment. Her receptionist Cynthia is really sweet and friendly too. But most importantly, I feel completely comfortable with Dr. Hoppe. I trust Dr. Hoppe and I feel like can discuss my concerns and ask questions without being judged or rushed. I also get her email newsletters that contain interesting articles and tips for women.. you get the feeling she is really on your side and cares about you. I have good insurance; unfortunately Dr. Hoppe doesn't take it - but I still go to her because it's worth it. If this is an issue for you make sure to check in advance before your visit by calling your insurance co. to see if she's in network.
