I have been a practitioner of Thai bodywork for a handful of years and, in 2013 received my Master's Degree in Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine as well as a certification of training in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Chengdu University in China. Throughout my education I received specialty training in integrative healthcare settings working with patients who have chronic pain conditions, auto-immune disorders, infectious and internal diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, and orthopedic and neurological pain syndromes.
Aside from Chinese Medicine, my professional background includes graduate-level research in the history of medicine (awarded UCSD 2007), and object conservation at the Library of Congress and National Gallery of Art from 2003-2006 following my undergraduate work in fine art and the history of art (awarded 2003 University of Maryland). Currently, and outside of my private practice I research and write about various topics related to Chinese medicine and the sociology of medicine. Outside of work I practice Chen style Tai Qi and repair musical instruments very much on the side.

Went and saw Emily yesterday morning for some serious elbow pain and swelling that I have been experiencing. Not only was the office beautiful, clean, warm and inviting, the entire treatment was both rigorous and relaxing. When I left I could tell that Emily had managed to get things moving around that needed to, and by waking up this morning I feel so much better. I think my elbow is now at 80-90 % after a week of hardly being able to use it. Thank you so, so much Emily!

Emily is a thorough and attentive practitioner of Chinese medicine. I came to her for a treatment and left feeling very refreshed and relaxed. My symptoms were significantly alleviated. Highly recommend her medical practice to anyone interested in acupuncture and massage!

Emily treated me for years for a variety of ailments: GERD, injured knees, a sprained tendon in my hand, stress, fatigue, and even pain caused by a cracked tooth. Both her needle technique and massage ability are excellent. She is skilled and caring. Emily creates a relaxing, healthful environment that means you always leave treatment feeling better than when you walked in. I'm sad that I've moved away and can no longer go to her!

I have trouble sleeping sometimes where I can't fall asleep for 24 hours or more. I desperately just wanted to fall asleep even if it was just for a few hours. I had never had acupuncture done on me before and Emily offered her services to me. I told her that I had never done it before and I was a little worried. So she said that she would try one needle on my arm so I could feel it out first. It wasn't bad at all. The needles are so fine, it felt like nothing. She inserted two needles where they needed to go. During the 20 minutes they were in, I slowly started to feel groggy and when I got home 30 minutes later, I slept like a baby. I would definitely see Emily again for acupuncture!
