Marie is the second oldest of five children, born and raised in Vista, CA. At a young age, she became interested in healing while in physical therapy for a broken arm from a gymnastics injury. From then on, she had a one-track mind, to become a physical therapist. After she graduated with a BS in Kinesiology from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA, she decided to take a few years off to work before going to graduate school. She moved to Chicago and became a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), and worked for over three years as a personal trainer and exercise physiologist.
She discovered acupuncture and Chinese Medicine after getting injured training for the Great Wall of China Marathon. This injury was a turning point in her life. She fell in love with acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, and was soon getting her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) at Pacific College of Oriental, Chicago campus. After graduating, Marie had a private practice in Chicago before moving back home to San Diego in the winter of 2012. After getting married in March of 2013, she started working at Center for Integrative Care, and has been here since.
As an acupuncturist and herbalist, Marie is very passionate about empowering her patients to take control of their health by educating them about health and wellness. This is what makes CFIC a perfect fit for her; the free workshops offered by CFIC provide the perfect avenue through which she can help educate patients on wellness and how to heal themselves.
In her free time, Marie enjoys painting, cooking, yoga, surfing, animals of all kinds (she has a most glorious cat named Cleopatra), and watching movies with her husband Ron Baez Jr.

This place is amazing and has so many cool ways to help improve your life! I came for the ARP Wave Therapy which really helped me heal a horribly painful and long-lasting bout of tendonitis and bursitis in my shoulder. The therapy gave me back almost full range of motion and major pain relief in a very short period of time. I traveled there from Los Angeles to have the treatments and it was worth it! Then I saw that they are doing brain mapping and brain training now! It looks so cool, I plan to try that next. These folks are professionals, know what they are doing and also very kind. I highly recommend them!

Very clean, courteous and downright professional. They are based off appointments and literally take you right into your session. The parking spots can get quite full but usually there is always one spot open for the taking.
