Being a dentist in Chula Vista means I am able to contribute to a person’s well-being. Working with so many incredible people, each with their own unique needs, keeps me challenged and engaged. I am proud that dentistry allows people to have a healthy life, both physically and emotionally, as oral health is connected to both physical health and self-esteem. My experience and knowledge means I make a difference in the lives of my patients, and that is very rewarding.
I love the relationships I develop with my patients and the conversations we share. Hearing their life stories, learning about their individual successes, and their openness and willingness to include me in their daily life, are honors that I do not take lightly.
I am especially humbled by my patients who come to me with dental anxiety. Some of them have put off seeing a dentist for years and are now in great pain. Not only am I able to relieve them of that pain, but through the use of painless dental techniques, including sedation, I am able to show them that modern dentistry is not something to fear. When a previously reticent patient smiles and hugs me at the end of a procedure, telling me that they felt nothing, I know I’ve started them on the path to dental healing.

Dr. Gistaro has been my dentist for a few years; and is an outstanding professional in his field. He and his staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I've had so bad experiences with some dentist, but Dr. Gistaro and his staff. I don't mind going to the dentist .

Last week I went in to have dental work that basically what would have taken me all year to complete. Dr. Gistaro provides conscious sedation, so I opted to get my dental work handled in one day. This was a bit of a gamble as I hadn't been to a dentist since I moved down from the Bay Area in 2013. But, I read Dr. Gistaro's reviews and decided to go for it. I can't believe what an amazing experience it was. The conscious sedation doesn't knock you out, but it makes you relaxed so that the 4 hours of dental work was not traumatic. I expected to be out of it the next day when Dr. Gistaro called to check on me. To my surprise, I could tell him that I felt fine...like I'd had no dental work done at all. The other thing that is very cool is that the office has a website that has all your records, your bill, your next appointments, etc... Plus, they sent a reminder text. The office is also very clean and in a great location just across from the Chula Vista mall. Thanks to Dr. Gistaro and his amazing staff of professionals. I'm never going to anyone else for dental needs and have already referred two friends to go to his office.
