Been a patient for many years and recently developed a SEVERE dry and red eye issue. I’m a surgical professional and don’t know a lot about optometrists. Through lots of investigation I found Dr. Chang. He has gone to extraordinary means to help resolve this issue. It’s beyond normal “fix it“ measures. He’s working very hard to help resolve this issue. Excellent OPTOMETRISTS do far more than eye check-ups. They are high level specialists. I highly recommend Family Eye Care Center (Drs. Chang & Tuan). .

I always feel that my doctor has my best interest at heart. It takes extra time is needed, extra tests if needed and whatever else is necessary. I trust him completely.

Very efficient service for eye exam and quick explanation of vision insurance coverage for the glasses I wanted to get and ordered that same day (without eye dilation, choosing frames is quite easy, otherwise I’d have waited until a subsequent day). Definitely very smooth. Only recommendation I should give would be to get yourselves set up for accepting payment via American Express cards.

My visit on 3/2/2019 was a pleasant one, the front desk was nice and dr Ross was also nice

I throughly enjoy my appointment with Dr Ruiz. What has bothered me is the eye glass company associated with Family eye center. The eye glass representatives are very professional but I feel pressured into purchasing accessories that I don’t need or want!

Everyone was prompt and professional. Dr. McBrode was professional and informative.

Positives: -I was 5 minutes late to my appointment, but I was admitted very quickly when compared to most medical appointments. -Optometrist was respectful and clear on every procedure she did to check the health on my eyes. -Facility was kind enough to include my wife's insurance in order to obtain new prescription Negatives: -It needs to be clear on what procedures need to be done IF the patient needs to pay. This is especially important - I do not wear contacts much, but as a courtesy decided to go ahead with the check up. It costed an additional ~$60 to do this when I didn't need to do it all. I believe they need to go through with the patient step by step how much it would cost in the near future.

First time here and love it! The Dr I saw was super nice and so attentive!

Amazing experience! I’ve never been to an optometrist that allowed me to try on contact strengths prior to leaving. Huge plus for me - I felt like my well-being mattered to staff, beyond the scope of just my visit. Dr. Ruiz was very accommodating, explained things when I asked, and had a pleasant manner. Costs were calculated for me to compare how to best utilize insurance to cover all of my needs. After a long day of work, that additional service was very appreciated. I will absolutely be recommending your office to my partner and friends in the area.

My experience would have been excellent except when I made the appointment I was told it was 2:40pm. After waiting for 13 min. I asked how much longer was the backlog and I was told my appointment was for 2:50pm. I had been told 2:40 and was there 10 min. before my appointment. When we got helped, everyone was awesome!!

I am treated as a human being and not just the next client Dr Ruiz remembers details about me and I only saw him 2 times last year and to come in with an issue on my eyesight, and be seen and taken care of in a very timely manner is the best!!

I have been coming to Dr Ross every year for at least 30 years. Yesterday, I was in a rush, and the whole staff accommodated me very efficiently. I really appreciated it. Dr Ross always takes good care of both my husband and me.

Front desk personnel friendly, flexible,!efficient and patient. Gabby was the employee who guided me through the entire process of visual testing and procedures as well as assisting me with options for new eyeglasses and follow-up. Dr. Ruiz has been my opthalmologist for quite awhile now and closely monitors my eyes, including follow up on emergencies situations. He explains everything in detail. The front desk employees go out of their way to provide options for handling insurance issues. Having inadvertently left my insurance cards at home, I was given the option of returning later with them (didn't affect my appointment) or faxing the information to them. Since I no longer have a car, I was able to take a photo of the insurance cards and the AARP membership ID number. Although I wasn't aware of it, I was told that with AARP I'd be eligible for a 30% discount on my new eyeglasses. I highly recommend Family Eyecare for all your visual needs

My overall experience was outstanding from the time that I showed up to the time that I was taken in to see the doctor everything went really well the staff is very polite and dr. Lam is very thorough in his explanation of what he is doing why he is doing good and making sure that you're very comfortable and informed about the health of your eyes he listened to my history and concerns and provided several options for contact lenses as well as explain the pros and cons of each once I was done with the exam the team out front really made it very easy to work with my insurance company and provided me with a detailed receipts and breakdown of the charges. As I was testing out and you kind of contact lens the following day I had some issues with the lens I called the office and they were quickly able to get me in the same day and dr.lam listen to my concerns and provided an alternate solution which has been working. Very well so far.

Always a good experience

My visit to family eye care was for an emergency. Some kind of bug flew in my eye and either stung me or bit me. I was in excruciating pain. Dr Tuan saw me without an appointment. She examined my eye and assured me that there was no evidence of a stinger or abrasion to my eye. She had excellent bedside manner and calmed me down from what was a very stressful (and extremely painful) experience. Having gone to family eye care for decades, I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I was well informed of all procedures by Jessica who was very nice.

Dr. Ross is always very thorough in his examination and gives accurate information and good advice.

I-care was so accommodating and helpful to get me in and to help me with my “pink eye.” The office staff and techs were very helpful with sizing my glasses and the dr. was very thorough and knowledgeable. I would rate I-care a 5/5! I was disappointed that FECC could not find an appt time for me, but am so glad to have found I-care in the process. :)

She was very patient and I never felt rushed even though it was far past closing time. Her feedback was also very helpful when selecting a pair of frames perfect for my face. All in all it was a great experience.

Liked Dr Chang. He was explaining very patiently all the steps even though it was a regular eye check-up. Also loved their optician. Really knowledgeable , friendly and helped me get a good pair of sunglasses.

Doctor Le was great. Very pleased with her connection with patients and being so thorough. I do think I started the process 30 minutes after my appointment time. Was there 1 hour and 30 or 40 minutes. Did not expect that. Was Kate for s meeting.

Dr. Ross has been my eye doctor for many years. His exams are very thorough, he truly cares about any concerns you may have, plus, he has a great sense of humor. When my insurance carrier had changed I was forced to find a new eye doctor. I was very sad, and I was never as comfortable with the replacement as I was with Dr. Ross. Several years ago my carrier changed (again) and I was sure glad it did, because I was able to have Dr. Ross back! His staff is pretty amazing as well.

I was glad they decided to check my eye again. It is not common to have your vision change every 3-4 months so drastically. First time the lens was literally rubbing the eye, maybe a manufacturing issue. The second time not sure why I was having vision issues. Thanks for being open to fixing a bad situation.

Only request I would make: When you pull up people’s benefits on VSP, please release the authorization when the patient leaves (if they don’t use the benefits with your optician). If you don’t release it, the patient’s benefits will then come up as “no benefits available “ when the patient tries to use them elsewhere. This is very inconvenient and time wasting to try to get fixed. VSP has suggested vendors should release the authorization if not used at the vendors’ facility.

Was a great visit seeing Dr Ross. I always learn something from him regarding the importance of eye health. Please let him know that I went out and bought 2 yellow bell pepper plants 🌱 Can’t wait for them to start producing!

We moved from Dr Lum’s office to this new office, & felt a bit disappointed that this larger office was more of factory setting & not very personable. It was confusing to get a phone confirmation about the appointment & have the person from the eye doctor’s office questioning the purpose of the visit. It’s alarming that Family Eye Care did not capture purpose of appointment at the time when the date was set

I don’t remember the girl who did the eye test for me, but she was really great and was very nice. She cleaned the machines before I put my face on them and to me that is a huge plus! I would have like to have been provided the disposable shades soon after my dilation and exam. Instead of when I was leavung and mentioned how uncomfortable I had been picking out my glasses in a bright setting.

You did lots of stuff OK, but when I asked in April about a chip in my glasses lens, Ulysses told me that the only way to fix it was to have the lenses remade, and that would cost me. When i was in for my recent appointment, the technician told me that my lenses were covered for a year for scratches and chips, then said she would replace my lenses this time "as a one-time courtesy." The thing is, I'm still within my one year. How is giving. Me what I am due a "one-time courtesy?"

I have been going to Family Eye Care for over 30 years. Dr. Taylor has always been wonderful, astute, expert, with good advice. Front desk staff this last time was another matter. I walked in, while all behind the desk were engaged. Sign on counter says sign in, which I did and noted my appointment time. After sitting in the waiting area for a couple of minutes, someone front the front desk walks up to me asking who I was and if I had an appointment. Then asked if I had medical insurance. I told her who I was at that the info she asked was on the sign in sheet. This is the second time in a row (last year and this year) that I have been disappointed by the treatment by the front desk staff. The last time, I told Dr. Taylor about this. I will still see Dr. Taylor--he's the best. But I wish the front desk staff would get some instructions on being more welcoming and less confrontative.
