We were in a panic when our 3 year old broke her tooth in half at daycare on a Friday afternoon. Our normal dentist was closed and so were most others we found, by a miracle Joppa Green was open and were able to take us as new patients in an emergency right away. When I walked in (still in a panic) I was greeted by the friendliest staff and the office itself had lots of games/movies/toys for my daughter to take her mind off her tooth. We were seen quickly by an incredible hygienist who was so sweet to my daughter, and then met with Dr. Wallengren. Dr. Wallengren was thorough with her examination of my daughter, and was great with my wiggly, wild child. When we had to make a decision on what to do next she explained clearly what our choices were and kindly answered all of my questions. When my husband unexpectedly came running in a few minutes later, she graciously went back over everything she had discussed with me and also answered all his questions. When we made the decision to pull her tooth she was able to fit us in quickly, and made what could of have been a traumatic experience one that wasn’t so bad at all. Dr. Wallengren even texted to check on my daughter the next day. I would highly recommend Dr. Wallengren to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist. She was amazing and every single member of the staff at Joppa Green was friendly and great with children (and freaked out parents). I can’t imagine ever taking either of my girls to any other dentist now, they are the best.

The whole experience for Milena today was great. The office staff and medical personnel are fantastic. Debbie did a really nice job explaining what she was going to do. One occurrence, which Debbie acknowledged immediately, was when Debbie tried to rinse the toothpaste off Milena's upper teeth and she squirted water too far back in her throat. Even with the suction in place (with anyone reclined so far back there is a risk of aspiration), Milena gagged and coughed briefly. But she continued to cough/clear her throat a little after we left (she's fine now). This was the first time this had happened to either of my children, so just a one off I think.

My 21 month old was seen & services the same day for a chipped tooth. As first time parents, we were freaking out. The staff (everyone from the front desk, hygienist, and doctor) quickly put us at ease. The environment is very kid friendly, bright, and happy. Our girl loved the fish tank. And a little “prize” at the end sealed the deal. We will definitely be back and when this next one is ready he’ll be right there too!

Dr. Wallengren and the other staff were excellent at keeping my 3 yo happy and calm and not at all scared or nervous for the entire visit. We've been to other offices where restraints had to be used. This was much more relaxed and easy. They were fairly on time and we did not have to spend too much time in the waiting room, which if you have young kids, can be a big deal.

Great , friendly dentist who genuinely care

Our 15 month old daughter had a minor chip in her tooth. We took her to see Dr. Walengren and her team. We were greeted with smiles and a very helpful staff. They do have a play room for the toddlers which was useful when I was filling out paperwork. Dr. Walengren and her team were very thorough with explaining how to take care of my daughter's teeth and a timeline of what to expect. My wife and I are very happy to have found this practice. We'll be here for a long time. Thank you!

Great dentistry for children with special needs.

This is the BEST dentist in town. Everyone is exceptional in the office! We arrived and checked in. A couple of minutes later, we were told the doctor was running behind in the most apologetic way. These things happen. I told them we would wait and Grace was more than happy playing on the video games and with the toys. Even still, they came over with a prescription for a free ice cream or snowball! How amazing is that?! The rest of the appointment went just as well. I am so impressed. Both of my kids love Dr. Wallengren and her staff.

While not an emergency, we were scheduled the same day and there was no extra waiting time even when squeezed into the schedule. Excellent, friendly staff. Alia absolutely loves going to the dentist! She had a very bad experience when she was 5 and it was so hard to assure her everything would be ok at each visit thereafter. I want to thank both Dr. Wallengren and the office staff for being SO helpful in getting my daughter an appointment before she aged out of our dental coverage. The staff diligently called me at least one a week for the last month to offer cancellation appointments until we could fit one into her college schedule. And Dr. W - thank you so much for your skill and kindness with navigating her through the administration of the local anesthetic and the cavity repair. She has severe anxiety regarding medical procedures, and you made the process less stressful by giving her some control, information, and gaining her compliance. So few caregivers are able to do this skillfully - but you spent the extra time and effort to help her manage the stress.

Very efficient staff, great experience.

My 9-year-old is a very sensitive child, and she was really traumatized by a previous dentist. We have been with Dr Wallengren for a few years now, and both she & all of the staff have been excellent. They are so patient, and take the time to explain what they are doing, really listen to what bothers her about it, and address it. Yesterday, I pretended not to see my daughter surreptitiously wipe away a lone tear from under the sunglasses when she was in the chair, but on the way home she said "I don't mind going to the dentist. I like the lady who did my teeth today - I wasn't bothered by anything she did" It may not sound like much, but trust me this is VERY high praise!!!

Professional and helpful staff. IMMACULATE clinical area and entertaining waiting area. Hygienists and Dr. Wallengren involved the parent in the pt’s exam. A significant improvement over our previous dentist. Well done!
