FANTASTIC - the one word I would use to describe my experience at Manassas Endodontics. The Good: Great staff, professional and caring doctors, and a comfortable environment. The Bad: I had to drive 45 minutes to the appointment. The Ugly: None noted Background: I am a retired military officer referred to this office for root canal surgery.   Summary of my experience. Scheduling: Manassas Endodontics schedule team was extremely helpful and made it very convenient to coordinate my appointment; they even allowed me to reschedule my visit when I was within 36 hours of my initial appointment. Arrival: I departed my home super early to ensure I made it to my appointment, typical for Northern Virginia and morning rush hour. I arrived at approximately ‪7:15‬ for the first available time slot, an ‪8 AM‬ appointment. I note this because I remained in my car until one of the staff arrived at which time I followed her into the office, approximately ‪7:30‬. To my pleasant surprise, the office was already buzzing with numerous other staff and several doctors preparing for the day. Clearly, this office is on top of their game, they operate like a well-oiled machine and a cohesive team under strong leadership, all in an effort to support the patient. Appointment: After completing my paperwork, the staff politely escorted me to the designated room. The technician - Reika introduced herself and made me feel at ease with small talk as she verified my information and prepared me for the surgery. After some x-rays Dr. Detar introduced himself, articulated his plan for the surgery, and answered all of my questions. He was polite, confident, and professional as he walked me thorough the details of his plan for the surgery. He was very patient in answering all my questions and this left me feeling relaxed and comfortable with how the next hour was going to unfold. True to his word, the surgery was a success with no issues. Dr. Detar kept me informed through every step of the procedure, and the flow of information kept me comfortable and calm during the entire event. Reika was a big help providing excellent support to Dr. Detar; she clearly is an expert as she appeared to always be "at the ready" with the correct tool or equipment to keep the operation on track. Out-processing: After the surgery, Julia in the front office greeted me with a smile and provide me with detailed information on "do's and don'ts" for the next few hours and what to expect for the next 24-48 hours. She also provided me a handout that contained the same info for future reference. Julia was key in helping me close out my visit, answer any questions, and get me out the door with no delays.   Overall opinion: Happy to say I do not require many root canals but if I ever need another one, I will go out of my way to seek an appointment with Dr. Detar or any other doctor at the Manassas Endo team; yes they were that good! What an amazing place! From the genuine friendliness and helpfulness of the front office staff to the highly professional technical staff, I was overwhelmed by their courtesy, their professionalism, and their generosity. When I could not afford a certain extended procedure the doctor performed it anyway at no additional charge. That is rare indeed these days. I would heartily recommend Manassas Endodontics to anyone without reservation. If you need endodontic work done, this is the place to go. They are a class act and a credit to their profession. Kudos to them all!

Today was my first visit with this office. I was very happy with the care that Dr. Detar provided. He was very friendly and professional. He took his time to explain his evaluation and the treatment plan. I loved the fact that he took the time to call my regular dentist to discuss his evaluation and the treatment plan. This is something that I wish all physicians would do! I think it's essential in order to receive the best care possible. His assistant Yessica was very sweet and knew how to calm me during a very stressful time. I was pleasantly surprised how helpful Julia was with the time and effort she put into contacting my insurance provider and informing me each step of the treatment plan as to what the out of pocket expense would be. You do not find this kind of help at other medical facilities. I am so glad that I was referred to their office. I can't say enough positive things about the care I received.

Dr Thorpe and the entire staff are the best, i had anxieties with having my 1st root canal and they were very patient with me and personally called me to make sure that i was ok ...appreciate you all

I have already recommended you to 2 people, Dr. Detar was great. Novocain shots didn’t hurt, root canal didn’t hurt, no pain afterwards just a little sore. Hard part was sitting still for 2 hours, nothing you can do about that! Would use you again....but hope I never have to.

Your office does many things well. Most notable are: 1) Everyone that interacts with the patients are friendly, 2) Your determination to ensure that the patient understands out-of-pocket expenses before any procedures are performed, 3) The Endodontist calls the patient several days after the procedure and even provides his personal cell phone number when you leave the office, 4) The Endodontish and assisant always explain what is being done during the procedure and 5) You provide comprehensive written instructions of what to do after a procedure is performed.
