This is our first time to visit the Falls Church office. We arrived on time. However filling the forms took some time and the total wait time took nearly an hour. After my son was seen by the assistant the process went very smoothly. The doctor called us at the end of the day to inform the test results. The overall experience is great. Next time we will switch back to the Fairfax location, which is a lot closer.

Dr. Bruno is delightful. She was patient and loving with my young 85 year-old mom while she tested her eyes and her diagnosis was excellent.

Dr. McAteer is an outstanding and caring doctor. She performed my cataract surgeries and I always felt I was an expert hands. She recently was able to see me on short notice before a trip to Mexico and was able to diagnose a problem with my left eye that is fixable with laser surgery when I return. I was able to leave the country knowing that this problem will be fixed when I return. I highly recommend Dr. McAteer.

Overall, I was pleased with the appointment I thought everyone was friendly and the doctor was good. However, I was not aware of how long the appointment would take that my son's eyes would be dilated and that took longer than I anticipated or planned. It would be helpful for new patients to be given a heads up about the length of the exam. Overall, we were there for 1 1/2 hours.

I have seen Dr. Oliver for a number of years. I feel I'm in very competent hands as she deals with my particular eye issues. There is usually a long wait, but much of that has to do with testing in the office before seeing her, and this office is very busy and tightly scheduled. I don't mind that because different patients require different amounts of time. Dr. Oliver is thorough and approachable if you have questions . I have developed utmost confidence in her.

I had cataract surgery three weeks ago and suffered from very poor vision. Since the surgeon's office was not taking my problem seriously I called Dr. McAlister. Being a new patient I was told his first available wasn't until September. But when I explained my predicament his office got me in right away (so grateful). He spent over an hour looking at my eye and was much more thorough than my surgeon's office. Diagnosed me with high eye pressure and gave me a prescription for it. I felt bad as I knew I was putting him in a delicate situation but he was so professional about it and even called my doctor's office to explain what he had administered. Thank you Dr. McAlister. I wish all doctors were as kind and professional as you are.

Appointments were easy to make. The staff (clerical, technical, doctors) were friendly and helpful.

The physician and staff were welcoming and professional. I have no complaints about my visit. My concern is with the portal. When I logged into the portal after my child's visit I could see multiple diagnoses listed that were not discussed during the appointment: hypermetropia, astigmatism of both eyes, suspected amblyopia. I was told that there were no issues with my child's vision or the anatomy of his eyes. The plan of care section of the portal is empty. Not only is the portal unhelpful, it is confusing and misleading.

I was 10 minutes late due to weather and school buses. In spite of that, I was welcomed by Dr. Vu-Gia and her team. I found the care to be outstanding. Questions were answered. Very professional. I will continue with Dr. Vu-Gia because of this.

At my insistence, they double checked and found that I had met my deductible for the year, but that the family deductible wasn't satisfied. So they wanted me to pay that, even though I had clearly met my individual deductible. They ended up calling someone and talked to at least one other person to verify that I did not have to pay the deductible for the whole family, so it eventually worked out. However, I was shocked that they truly didn't know how insurance deductibles work, in terms of individual vs family deductible. I'm going to assume that they were both very new to the job, but if I had not been absolutely sure about my balances, they would have overcharged me by about 500%.

My whole experience was wonderful from beginning to end. Receptionist was very kind, Dr. Oliver was the best opthamologist I've ever been to and her assistant was detailed and listened. Getting my prescription filled was easy and inexpensive with VSP.

The only thing that would improve the experience for me would be to have the dilation process go more quickly. It is so boring just sitting there waiting. Then I seem to spend the rest of the day dazzled!

But as usual I had to wait FOREVER to see her -- literally an hour and three quarters after my appointment (which I think is a new record). I would hope that when the office is running SO FAR behind, someone would call patients and give them the opportunity to reschedule.

Any eye problems I have ever had over the years, were immediately diagnosed and treatments were always appropriate and quickly effective, from eye drops to laser treatments. Dr. Bruno is one of the most pleasant doctors I've met. She remembered me after 4 years of consultation (I was living abroad). Reception staff like Alfredo welcome you and truly make you feel at home. They even clarify all concerns regarding insurance coverage.

I arrived at 9:30 for a 9:30 appointment (i.e. late), but was seen immediately by front desk staff and by the technician within 3 minutes, who politely and efficiently performed her work-up and interview within another 5 minutes. I then waited, while pupil dilation occurred, for less than 5 minutes for Dr. Shah to come in. Thorough, efficient, polite, asked and answered questions. I was done and on my way out within 25 minutes. Excellent service and from my perspective, excellent medicine.

My answer is yes, but there were a few things that could be improved. First, I ended up waiting about 40 minutes from the time I signed in before I was seated in a room. The front desk did not seem to be minding what the patient experience was. I had to go up to the desk and ask why there was such a delay. Would it have been so much trouble for the front desk to alert patients if they are aware of a delay? The front desk should have a better sense of awareness. I have been a patient for a number of years and the front desk is definitely an area that could use more training. As for the assistant that measured my nearsightedness, I thought she seemed very rushed. Nothing seems to have changed in my prescription but I am not sure in the 10 minutes or less that she spent with me, a change would have been uncovered. In any event, there seem to be scheduling issues that need to be addressed. I did not show up late so I know I was not the cause.

We waited 45 minutes to be seen only to then have my sons' eyes dilated and have to wait an additional 30 for the medicine to work. Such an inefficient way to do that!!! If this becomes the regular manner of visit, I will switch practices.

The appointment was fast. The office staff were helpful. I would recommend this place. However if they should inform patients ahead of their visit about the effects of the eye drops to dilate the eyes . After the drops I was not able to see clearly and restricted me from driving. I waited for almost two hours after my appointment for the visibility to be better so that I felt safe driving. If they had informed me earlier then I could have made necessary arrangements.

Everyone was very nice and the paperwork was easy to fill out. I did not have to wait long to get into see the doctor and the doctor did not recommend expensive eye drops but gave me a list of over the counter eye drops and explained how often I should use them and one else I could do for my dry eye problem.

There is always minimum 1 how wait before we see the doctor. Today, eyes dilated after an hour, then an added 30 min to see the doc. We only go back because a good doc.

I've mostly been served by Dr. John Martin. However, Dr. Bruno and Dr. Rich also treated me for particular urgent problems when Dr. Martin was not available. My care with all three physicians has been excellent. I moved to the No. Va. area in 2005. Dr. Martin has been my ophthalmologist since I moved here. My wife, Susan Post, saw him just after we arrived in the area and recommended him to me. I had an existing condition due to a hemorrhage in my retina several years before moving here, and my ophthalmologist at Los Alamos strongly suggested that I have my eyes checked every year to see if there was any change. There hasn't been. I would recommend Dr. Martin and your practice to others if asked.

Overall it was just fine but I will say having a technician who is better suited to small talk and have friendly conversation with your patients might help the overall feeling of the office. I was greeted with a very friendly front desk staff member and the doctor was great. Our tech, Kristina, was fine with my child but not into small or friendly talk with me as the parent at all. Perhaps I'm used to our pediatrician's office where everyone is super friendly and I love it.

Dr. McAtee took her time with me, I did not feel that she was rushing off to her next patient, which is often the case. She let me know exactly what she was doing and what to expect. She also did not pressure me, she left it up to me to decide cataract surgery and/or to have a new prescription filled. Reception - Very good. Gentlemen behind counter was polite and efficient. Nurse - Very professional. Inspired confidence, organized. Doctor Forster - Professional, good communications skills. Honest prognosis (no surgery yet). Had 8:15 appointment. Arrived at 8:00. Was not seen until 8:45. Not sure what the issue was so early in the morning but would have like to been advised of delay after 15 minutes. Not a show stopper.

The staff were very professional and welcoming. Dr. Forster is one of the few doctors I look forward to seeing (he is not just knowledgeable but so very kind and warm). Lastly, the fact that there was no waiting time was wonderful.

Very professional operation. However, I had to wait for 40 minutes (55 if you include the 15 minutes early that I arrived) for my appointment. Unacceptable! Babysitters are not cheap and sometimes not flexible on time. I am hoping that this is a one-time occurrence.
