Liz was so welcoming on the phone, made me feel that I called the right office. Made me feel like I was friend when I walked in to greet me. A super star for sure. The assistant also made me feel so at home as if I had value. The gal that went over finances also made me feel special as if I was a long time patient. The visit went well. I always like working with Rosa. When I checked in they asked for my driver's license and insurance card. I don't remember in the past the office asking for my driver's license. A heads up about needing a driver's license and updated insurance card when notifying me about an appointment would have been nice. There was another person who was taken aback by asking for the license/insurance card. Try to do a better job of communicating this information before someone comes into the office.

Everything was super. The receptionist knew me by name and the hygienist kept me informed to what she was doing, the music is nice.

Dr. Vanderhoff is the best. He always explains everything and makes me feel I am in very good hands, kind, understanding, patient and very professional. He truly cares about his patients and his entire team. The whole team are wonderful.

I think the dental care provided by this office is excellent. That said I do have one bit of feedback on customer service. I recently bought the new system for teeth whitening. When I asked how to use it, I was told to read the instructions and/or watch a You Tube. Valid suggestions. However I think when a patient buys something new for several hundred dollars, someone should be able to take 5 minutes and provide a brief explanation on how to use it.

I could not be happier with this professional practice. I had a cosmetic emergency over a week-end (broken tooth on the lower front) and left a message about getting in on a Monday. I received a call on Sunday from someone scheduling, had an appointment Monday morning and left within an hour with a temporary fix and plan for permanent work soon. Thank you.

Or what you did not do well. I waited for almost 20 minutes before Rosa came to get me. The receptionist said I was checked in when I came at 11:57 for a 12:00 appointment. I heard her call my home at 12:15 pm to ask if I was coming to appointment. That's when I got up to say I was here and waiting. The cleaning was fine.

The hygienist did a great job and I left feeling good about the health of my teeth. All very thorough.

The treatment I received from Dr. Don Sing and his assistant Joey was excellent! And I was able to be treated within a few days of my call.

I had slight emergency yesterday (front tooth fell out ) At first I was told the dentists were all slammed, and I said‘it’s kind of an emergency’ Dr VanDerhoef saw me in 2 hours, couldn’t have been nicer or calmer. All is good today!! They are the best!!!!

My implant procedure went exceedingly well from my standpoint. I had little to no discomfort during the procedure and afterwards had no need for pain killer or any significant bleeding. Dr Kerr and his staff were fantastic, very professional, and I really enjoyed interacting with them all.

Heidi did an excellent job cleaning my teeth, and Dr VandDerhoef always performs a final check of my teeth and mouth. It was one of his checks a few years ago that discovered squamous cell carcinoma on my lip.

Shay was EXCELLENT and what I consider my gold standard for a dental assistant. She led me to a breakthrough in dental care. I thought the purpose of the brush (looks like a miniature bottle brush) was to clear food particles from between teeth. But Shay explained that another important function of them is to brush the edges of the teeth. She has natural social skills such that I didn't feel like I was getting faux customer pleasantries. I could go on more about how this experience might have been the best, and I know that Shay was just filling in for your permanent assistants, but again in my opinion, she is a role model for that job. Dr. Vanderhoef is a fine dentist who taken care of me for many years and is running an excellent practice.

Dr. VanDerhoef and the team are incredible! They are super friendly and NEVER try to upsell anything. I was planning to do veneer for whitening reason but after consulting with Dr. VanDerhoef, he persuaded me to start with a way cheaper option first. I’m talking about he gives up making at least $20K opportunity for $350 service. That tells a lot about this place and their service.

I haven't been there in 5 yrs. When I went back after that time I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone was so helpful and upbeat. Because it is in Bellevue and I live in Renton I had chosen not to go to a dentist. There were no lectures just a very positive welcome back.

My teeth cleaning and exam went very smoothly, and you provide me with confidence that I am receiving the best dental care.

Dr DonSing was, as always, incredibly kind & helpful. I came in for an evaluation of a sore tooth, which he determined required a referral to a periodontist. He also adjusted a mouth guard for me that was contributing to the pain, which has now completely resolved, although I will go see the periodontist per his recommendation. He spent at least 25 minutes with me & sent me out No charge. Rare to experience such truly kind treatment nowadays!

Dr. VanDerhoef is such a consummate professional and kind man. The entire staff makes sure we are comfortable and cared for from the moment we walk in the door. One of the most appreciated aspects of this practice is the communication skills are first and foremost. Thanks for the appointment on Jan 10th. This appointment was the start of restoration dental work. This is a first for me. It was nice to meet the new dental assistant. She explained to me the difference between dental assistants and dental hygienist. Dental hygienists are allowed to work under the gum line. If that question ever comes up on Jeopardy I will be ready.

The receptionist area is soo friendly. They know me when I walk through the door. During my dental cleaning very thorough. I had questions about my teeth, they used pictures /X-rays to explain Super patient with my questions. I highly recommend

Normally all is perfect but I was literally 20 minutes early and my appointment was almost 15 minutes late. Not sure what the issue was but it also ended late so if I would have had to leave it would have made me late. Just something to be aware of.

Shae was great- thorough on the cleaning and also she put me on the waitlist for another 2023 cleaning if there are cancellations so I am glad she was considerate enough to do this given my need for more work since I have had deep pockets (while stable it still is better to remedy). Dr. V was great in explaining the crown work I needed as my prior dentist had never caught that. Look forward to future visits with the clinic!

Shelly was awesome. She was my hygienist and placed my nerve block, it was the most comfortable I have been getting blocked. I definitely want to keep seeing her as my hygienist. Dr VanDerhoef replaced an old and deteriorated crown for me in 2021. It was an elaborate procedure. It first entailed cutting out the old porcelain & metal crown and then drilling out the amalgam buildup. The Dr then examined the underlying tooth stub for any decay, cleaned it up, and then replaced it with a new Emax crown that was built while I waited. I have two points to make: 1) PAIN FREE DENTISTRY: I have had many good dentists in my day, but Dr VanDerhoef is by far the best practitioner of pain-free dentistry that I have encountered. He is very skilled at giving dental anesthesia shots. You hardly feel the shot and he places it well, so that you never feel the ensuing dental procedure. He also does not overmedicate you. If I could have propped my mouth open, I could have taken a nap during the entire crown procedure. 2) MODERN DENTISTRY IS EFFICIENT: The custom, same day crown that VanDerhoef Smiles can build for you is a great advance in crown dentistry. Gone are the days when you first would be fitted with a temporary crown while you waited two weeks for the new, permanent crown to be fashioned.

The service provided went well. I did think I had to wait a couple of times a bit to long. With only half my teeth it, I could of been done by 11:30. Anyway, through the afternoon after lunch the inside of my lower lip began to swell and swell. When I got home I put some Anbesol on it and again before I went to bed. It came down somewhat on Wednesday but there is still some swelling. I think I may be allergic to either the aenesthetic that was used or the floride treatment. If it is still somewhat raw tomorrow I may call.

Dr. Hunt and Sara were very kind and patient with me. I was 10 minutes late for my procedure which I had already rescheduled! Even though I apologized, I felt badly. They made me welcome, the dental care was excellent and I had to ask which 3 teeth they repaired! I couldn't tell. Very little discomfort later in the day. All-in-all just perfect.

Yesterday, once I was in the dental chair for a cleaning, Rosa told me that Dr. Hunt would be checking my teeth today and added, “o.k.?” I did say “o.k.”. Later I told Rosa that if I needed any work or treatments that I would want Dr. VanDerhoef, that Dr.VanDerhoef is my dentist. Rosa then said she would go talk with Dr. VanDerhoef and when she came back, she said Dr. VanDerhoef would be checking my teeth. I just need to know if you do not want me so I can plan appropriately. I felt badly that I was not told ahead of time, until I was in your dental chair, that you planned to provide an alternate dentist. I want the best working conditions for you. I know your jobs can be stressful. I don’t know why you tried to pass me off to a dentist I never heard of before.

Tosa was fantastic (as always). I don’t usually like surprises - espy when I’m at the dentist. I would have preferred a heads up that I was scheduled to see a new dentist. Although I liked Dr. Hunt and he is very qualified, it should be a choice that you give patients prior to showing up for an appointment that has been scheduled for 6 months. I have to say that I did not appreciate the surprise at 8 am when I arrived.

I have been seeing Dr. VanDerhoef since he started his practice and can’t say enough positive things. I had my daughter start seeing him as soon as she was old enough to see a dentist because I trust him and he is excellent at what he does. The dental assistant at this last appointment was extraordinary!

We appreciate the level of care, professionalism and attention to current Covid protocol that Dr. VanDerhoef and his associates provide. Dr. VanDerhoef is very current regarding his knowledge of his field and offers information about services that we are interested in. For instance, when my husband had an appointment regarding a crown, he was informed of the updated option of a crown being created in the office lab on the same day. This is much more convenient that having a temporary crown made and having to use caution regarding that area until a permanent crown was created offsite.

Sara was great. Both her and Dr. V were careful of my sensitive teeth and aversion to full mouth molds. The new scanner solves that and is the best thing ever! Keeping things in perspective of course.

I received the assessment required to the unexpected circumstance that i was presenting in a timely and kind manner !

I really enjoyed meeting Shay and having her work on my mouth. She is lovely and did an excellent job. She’s a great flosser!—knew just how far down to go at each tooth and moved the floss back and forth thoroughly. I felt very well cared for by Shay.

To be honest, I’m not typically one to write these. But, I was so impressed with my care at Vanderhoef Smiles, I feel obligated to share. Unfortunately, I had the bad luck of having a dental emergency (broken tooth) during the COVID-19 global pandemic. However, despite this, I was able to get an appointment almost immediately (as a new patient). Furthermore, I was able to see Dr. Vanderhoef, himself. I found both him and his staff extremely knowledgeable and friendly (they remembered my name after the first visit). But, even if you don’t care about any of that, I’d still recommend Vanderhoef Smiles. I found the quality of care to be top-notch. They used the newest techniques to fix my tooth and they’d walk you through each step of the process, explaining the reasoning. Lastly, they followed-up after the visit to see how I was doing. All in all, I was very impressed and I will be recommending them in the future.

I wonder if the assistant changed her gloves after touched my face and went to use the mouse to find my note in the computer. If not maybe that’s something she needs to pay attention to avoid cross contamination. She was very courteous though. I appreciate all your care!

Great follow-up on the appointment. The front-office staff always know what is happening, and how to help. I especially appreciate how clearly the doctor explained the procedure at the start, and kept me informed about what exactly he was doing, and what was next.

I have to admit I was a little nervous about having my teeth cleaned because of COVID 19 and the fact that the dental office had just reopened 3 days before my appointment. However it was wonderful, extremely well organized and they provided safety features that made me feel relaxed and safe. I called from the parking lot to let them know I was there & they returned my call to say it was ok to enter. Kay was there to ask me a few questions about my health in the previous 7-10 days and if I’d been traveling out of the state or around any people who had been diagnosed with the virus. Everything went extremely smooth, Rosa my hygienist was very well protected with coverings so I would be safe. And Dr. Vanderhoff stopped by also to check my records and just to see how I was doing and if I’d had any health issues recently which I haven’t. It was just a very pleasant visit which it always is @ this office. I highly recommend this dental office! The office is super clean and the staff is extremely helpful and always make my trip to the dentist very pleasant!

In a time of COVID-19 I felt very safe visiting the office. The doctors and staff provide constant feedback about what’s going on and good information about your course of treatment.

You MUST dilute that mouth rinse more, it was horrendous! I appreciate all the precautions you're taking for our safety (just tweak that peroxide recipe!).

Friendly greeting by Kevin. Provided a general overview of what was going to take place. Dr. VanDerhoff asks about the patient first and then proceeds by explaining what I could expect during my first visit. What I liked most was that he explained a step-by-step process to better keep me informed. He frequently asked how I was doing. Kevin fitted my partial crown with confidence and perfection! Really like both of them and I may have found a top dentist after attempts over a three year period! Thank you!

Had a new dental hygienist last visit. She did a good job cleaning my teeth. I would like her to add the “ fluoride” with a little more care as I left with gobs of fluoride on my teeth and down my throat and in chunks in my mouth. She was very thoughtful and as I said, did a lovely job cleaning my teeth otherwise.

My experience was great. I really felt that the hygienist was outstanding as well as the dentist. I would recommend them to our family and our friends.

Good experience, appreciated the way the hygienist and doctor VanDerhoef described what steps and procedures were going to be performed at the begining of the session and as each item was started. I was never in the dark about what was happening. At the end of the session Dr VanDerhoef spent time going over his recommendations and reasoning for future dental procedures.

As usual for my appointments, right on time. Went right to work with exam and cleaning including examine for oral cancer. Provided a couple of tips on how to protect my teeth as I age. Everything runs smoothly in the office: Very organized and professional.

Dental technician did most dental checkup things very well. Only thing to fix is the Flouride treatment at the end. It left a white sticky residue after 2 hours and had to brush it off. This was unusual. Normal would be no white sticky residue.

When Dr. VanDerhoeff became my dentist I no longer dreaded dental appointments. He and his entire staff could not be kinder or more considerate!

I truly don't understand how effective and beneficial the deep cleaning process is. I also don't understand why it has to be done in two separate appointments. I work over 80 hours per week and it is really tough to make so many dental appointments.

My appointment was very professional from check-in to on-time start to ex-rays to cleaning and to my meeting with Dr VanDerhoef. The hygienist Colleen was terrific explaining things as we went along including the ex-rays. Dr VanDerhoef was thorough in his explanation of the additional work I needed, and had a referral ready for me when I left. All-in-all a great experience. I actually look forward to continuing to work with the doctors to resolve my dental issues and concerns. The dental assistant who flossed my has a little rough movement doing flossing. Otherwise it’s all very satisfying visit.

I had a crown done and it all went well. The people are great the dentist did a great job. Everyone makes me feel comfortable.

Colleen was very friendly and efficient, and Dr. VanDerhoef was also. He didn't rush, and he pointed out two gum-line cavities I hadn't noticed (Colleen probably noticed). I feel I'm receiving excellent-quality care. Also, I was called at 10:10 that morning and politely asked if they were seeing me for my 10:00 appointment! They were very understanding and rescheduled me for that afternoon. I so appreciated that I wasn't charged for missing the earlier appointment, even after I'd gotten a reminder text and confirmed!! My husband and I are quite happy with VanDerhoef Smiles.

I have had quite a few good dentists in my day ...& a few not so good. I remember my dental professionals very well, so I feel very competent in making a comment. Dr Vanderhoef is technically a very good dentist. I am very comfortable with his recommendations and work. Among my very good dentists he is clearly the VERY BEST at patient communication and anticipating patient comfort needs. I have thought numerous times, "It's like he is reading my mind." Excellent job, Dr. V!

Sure, Megan was a joy to visit with and impressed by the interaction between her and Dr. Vu. Dr. Vu really took care in making sure i was taken care of and the extra attention to the height of the new filling is appreciated.

We are so very impressed by the team engaging in Joe's healing process. We feel Dr Vanderhoeff went above and beyond keeping in contact and being available to us. The thorough follow up and transparency of the plan ahead is highly appreciated. Also him involving the oral surgeon in the way he did had been great.

Explained what was about to occur very well. Also changed one procedure that saved me about $800.00 (thumbs up for that!).

I'm on Met Life insurance. It's confusing to not know what is going to be covered - each time the dental tech suggested a procedure over-and-above the regular cleaning, I had to have her check to see if insurance would cover it.

Visit was good! The hygienist explained why I should have cleanings every 3 months. Eased my mind that I thought I’m not doing my job as far as cleaning my teeth! Thanks! Donna
