Dr. Rex Werner has been practicing in San Diego since 1989. He is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry, and has worked with the Department of Public Health and the Veterans Administration as well as in private practice. In addition to being able to treat refractive disorders, Dr. Rex is certified in the treatment and management of external eye diseases. He also works with Lasik eye surgeons who are the leading experts in their field. He does pre-operative evaluations, consults, and performs post-operative follow-ups teaming with the specialists to give his patients the best care possible. Having undergone Lasik surgery himself, Dr. Rex is able to explain firsthand the pros and cons of the procedure. Dr. Rex fits all types of contact lenses, including toric, bifocal, and medically necessary soft and gas permeable lenses. Dr. Rex is happily married with four children and enjoys the great outdoors.
