I was in for an RX check related to sunglasses and the optometrist was good. While waiting for him used time to check why sight with regular glasses was murky. Played around using eyechart and found other glasses had wrong optical center. Question- Why isn't the eye chart directly in front of the exam chair? Seems odd to look at the chart on an angle.

I got a quick assessment for presenting symptoms and given info on how to manage those symptoms. I got news I have cataracts in both eyes- first time I am hearing this. Not sure what I need to do or be aware of with it. I have noticed needing to use more lights than usual to get around over the past few months. Plus I am avoiding driving at night. I have no idea what level of cataracts require treatment and if I am near that stage now.

I just really like my doctor and the young lady that help me with my glasses. She listened to what I was asking for and did everything to help.

Dr Gormely is superb- wish she were in Lutherville another day of the week- I would switch practices if she were not available as the bureaucracy has increased significantly over the years- too many staff adds time and expense- not efficient for patients or physicians. Answering staff occasionally arrogant- has improved slightly recently.

I’d like to see Dr. Katzen for a follow up to my cataract surgery. Do I need a referral for that?

I hardly had to wait at all. I was worried about a possible diagnosis and everyone was very sweet and assured me I would be fine. Dr. Grodin told me as soon as he knew for sure that everything was fine and then continued the rest of the exam.

Special thanks to Karen in the phone center for sending a card to me when I wasn’t feeling well and had to reschedule. How very thoughtful!

I felt the eye glass frame selection was very weak.

Despite a very crowded office, you saw me ahead of schedule and I had to wait for no more than 2-3 mins at any stage in the visit. The longest time I had to wait was dialation time. I applaud your practice on such a streamlined operation. However, I do have issues with the call-in process. I had to call to share info that the doctor requested post visit. But the automated selection options didn't fit well, there was no catch all option to just speak to a person, and when I did select an option I was either on hold for several mins or sent to voice mail. Good customer service should be represented well in all service outlets.

Positive experience. Many people involved. I would try to streamline the process in office to limit time in between different people doing testing. I’m sure I’m no different in that there is a huge investment out of pocket for this procedure. But please consider negotiating a deal with a sunglass company like Costa, Native Eyewear, Oakley to provide stylish sunglasses post op. I would be glad to negotiate this deal for Katzen Eye by contacting one or all of these companies to bid. The glasses provided are from the stone ages and never to be worn style since it indicates surgery to everyone you come in contact. You should provide a sporty stylish option that will be used after surgery and beyond. There would be no waste. I’d be glad to inquire. Let me know.

Over the years, I have unfortunately grown accustomed to lengthy waits at Katzen, so I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case with my appointment on 12/12. I'm hoping this will continue to be the case in the future.
